LAS VEGAS - Kevin Casey, in his return to the UFC after winning the RFA title, opened the UFC 175 fight card in impressive fashion.

The middleweight Casey, whose father-in-law happens to be Muhammad Ali, dropped Bubba Bush early in the first round. He followed with a series of elbows to Bush's face that brought the bout to a close by the referee.

"I opened him up with the elbow and then softened him with a shot to the body," said Casey (9-3). "Once he was down I continued to apply the elbow strikes until the ref moved in and stopped the fight.

"Having Muhammad Ali as a father-in-law and being connected with such a wonderful family with a rich history means everything to me. I really feel an obligation to go out and represent them and my trainers, the Gracie’s, as well as I can.”

In the second early prelim, middleweights Luke Zachrich and Guilherme Vasconcelos put on a three-round stand-up show with Zachrich winning by unanimous decision.

The judges scored it 30-27, 30-27, 29-28 in favor of Zachrich.

“A lot of people don’t remember but my first taste of the UFC was on 'The Ultimate Fighter'  season 7," Zachrich said. "After the season only a couple of the competitors were brought back to fight on the finale, unfortunately I wasn’t one of the lucky ones. It’s been a constant struggle since then and there have been a lot of ups and downs, highs and lows."
