The UFC’s first foray into the Long Island market got a little bit bigger Thursday.

Heavyweight Tim Johnson will face newcomer Junior Albini at UFC Long Island on July 22 at the renovated Nassau Coliseum. The main card will air on Fox, though placement of this bout has yet to be announced.

Johnson, the No. 12 ranked heavyweight in the UFC, is coming off a split-decision victory over Daniel Omielanczuk last March. Johnson (11-3, 3-2 UFC) has yet to win back-to-back fights in the UFC. Johnson, 32, from North Dakota, was a Division II All-American wrestler at Minnesota State.

Albini, a 26-year-old Brazilian heavyweight, will be making his promotional debut. Albini (13-2) is on a nine-fight win streak dating to 2013. He last fought in August when he defended his heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Jose Rodrigo Guelke in an Aspera FC match in Brazil.

Tickets for UFC on Fox 25 at the Coliseum, the fifth UFC event in New York since the state legalized mixed martial arts in March 2016, go on sale June 2.
