Since joining Newsday in November 2007, Kimberley A. Martin has covered everything from local news to high school sports to the Super Bowl. In 2011, she was named the National Association of Black Journalists' "Emerging Journalist of the Year" for her outstanding achievement and balanced coverage of the black community and society at large. After spending two years as a general assignment sports reporter, Kimberley was promoted to the New York Jets beat in April 2012.

Before coming to Newsday, she worked as a local sports reporter for The Record in Hackensack, N.J.

Kimberley received her B.A. in Psychology and African American Studies from Wesleyan University in 2003 and her M.A. in Newspaper, Magazine & Online Journalism from Syracuse University in 2006. Prior to grad school, she worked at an investment firm in Midtown Manhattan.

The Jets claimed former Rams running back Daryl Richardson off waivers Friday afternoon.

Richardson, a cousin of Jets wideout Clyde Gates, rushed for 4.8 yards per carry in 2012 and 3.1 yards last season.

According to TMZ Sports, a 28-year-old woman has filed a report with the Morristown police department alleging she was slapped by Jets defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman earlier this week.

Aaron Glenn is headed to the Browns.

The former Jets cornerback and scout is headed to Cleveland, where he’ll be an assistant defensive backs coach, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Wednesday.
