Fantasy basketball notes from Monday

BY ADAM RONIS

Dwyane Wade continues to dominate the fantasy world. He had 37 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, three blocks and had seven turnovers.

Michael Beasley came off the bench again and had a solid game. He had 19 points and six rebounds and shot 7 of 15 from the field. It helped he was playing the Warriors. Stick with him, but he will have some ups and downs.

Shawn Marion had 21 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and two assists. Again, he was playing the Warriors, who play no defense and allow everyone to have huge fantasy games.

If you own Udonis Haslem, send out the offers to deal him immediately. He had 21 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks and shot 8 of 11. The Warriors make everyone look good. It was Haslem's first double-double of the season and he doesn't block shots. He's only good for points and rebounds and he has declined in recent weeks.

Good old Don Nelson. Anthony Morrow didn't play in an overtime loss to the Heat. You never know with Nelson, but I'd release him in shallow leagues.

Stephen Jackson started despite a hand injury and had to be bothered by it since he took just 11 shots in 49 minutes. He went 2 of 11 and had eight points and 11 assists.

Kelenna Azubuike didn't play because of a sprained left foot and Brandan Wright got the start in his place and had 15 points, four rebounds and two blocks. His playing time is too inconsistent to count on him.

Jamal Crawford had 40 points and seven assists. He'll be good for the Warriors.

I said before the season Kevin Garnett wasn't a first-round pick. He had 15 points, nine rebounds and didn't contribute in the other categories. He's still very good, but not going to live up to first round value.

Kendrick Perkins had eight points and 13 rebounds. He won't score a lot, but he will help on the boards, so if you have enough scoring, consider picking him up.

Jason Richardson looks fine since recovering from knee surgery. He had 35 points, four rebounds, three three's, three assists and shot 11 of 18 from the field.

Emeka Okafor has really come on strong after a terrible start. He had 24 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks and shot 9 of 14 from the field.

After it appeared as if he might lose his starting job to D.J. Augustin, Raymond Felton is coming on strong. He had 14 points and 14 assists.

Al Jefferson had just eight points and nine rebounds, but blocked six shots.

I like Mike Miller this season and he is finally emerging. He had 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five three's.

Corey Brewer will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. That could mean more playing time for Ryan Gomes, who had 16 points and six rebounds.

Spencer Hawes will start at power forward for the Kings Tuesday in place of Mikki Moore. Kevin Martin is expected to return from an ankle injury and come off the bench.

Tracy McGrady will miss at least one week to allow his knee, which he had surgery on, to heal. He has a sore knee and Luther Head will start in his place. This comes as no surprise, so if you drafted him, you knew this was coming.

Josh Smith is expected to return from an ankle injury Wednesday.

Anderson out for the season; Winslow out for Week 14

BY ADAM RONIS

Derek Anderson's season is officially over as he was placed on injured reserve with a torn MCL in his left knee. He doesn't need surgery.

Kellen Winslow Jr. has a high ankle sprain and will not play in Week 14. he had an MRI today. He will wear a walking boot for up to a week. Steve Heiden and Martin Rucker will see time at tight end. All the Browns are a risky play with Ken Dorsey at quarterback.

Fantasy football Week 14 waiver wire

BY ADAM RONIS

QUARTERBACKS
Shaun Hill (49ers): He has been mentioned here for weeks. Just a reminder in case you are in dire need at QB.

Matt Schaub (Texans): In case he was dropped, add him.

RUNNING BACKS
Peyton Hillis (Broncos): Do we finally have a Broncos running back we can trust? Are the Ravens the new Broncos when it comes to running backs? Hillis was the only running back to get a carry against the Jets and he had 22 for 129 yards with a TD against an excellent Jets run defense. Who would have thought that Hillis and not Darren McFadden and Felix Jones would have the biggest Week 13 of rookie Arkansas running backs? He runs with power and is a solid receiver. Selvin Young could steal some carries if he returns, but expect Hillis to be solid and get the goal line carries.

Sammy Morris (Patriots):Kevin Faulk is seeing more time because the Patriots have been in passing mode. Morris could be a good play with some good matchups the next few weeks.

Tashard Choice (Cowboys):Marion Barber is expected to play, but Choice should be owned in case Barber misses time.

Brandon Jackson (Packers):Jackson filled in well when Ryan Grant missed the second half with a sprained thumb against the Panthers Sunday. He had 80 yards on just 11 carries. Jackson should be picked up by Grant owners and those in deeper leagues.

Ladell Betts (Redskins): Clinton Portis remains banged up. Make sure you have Betts stashed on the bench.

WIDE RECEIVERS
Domenik Hixon (Giants): The future of Plaxico Burress is still murky at this time and even when he was playing, Burress wasn't putting up great numbers. He is a good playmaker and is a good pickup, especially if you own Burress.

Davone Bess (Dolphins):I mentioned him last week and in the last column. He's starting and is even more appealing in PPR leagues. The Dolphins aren't explosive on offense as they showed against a weak Rams defense, but Bess should be a decent play in PPR leagues.

TIGHT ENDS
John Carlson (Seahawks):Since the Seahawks have been awful, Carlson might have been discarded. He had 6 catches for 105 yards against the Cowboys. He's a good No. 2 TE and could be a fill-in if you own Kellen Winslow Jr.

Heath Miller (Steelers): Another decent replacement for Winslow owners. He has been solid since his return from injury and he faces a Cowboys team this week that is vulnerable against the pass.
