Samantha Cesario of Oceanside performed a smooth free skate Saturday night and finished eighth in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Omaha, Neb.

Ashley Wagner finished first, Gracie Gold was second after making a major move with the highest-rated free skate, and Agnes Zawadski was third.

Cesario, a 2011 graduate of Oceanside High School, was seventh after her short program. Her free skate Saturday night was part of the NBC broadcast.

Danielle and Alexander Gamelin of Merrick finished 11th in the senior dance.
