1988 SEOUL OLYMPICS

Result: Bronze medal

Key players: Dan Majerle (14.1 PPG), David Robinson (12.8 PPG, 6.8 RPG), Danny Manning (11.4 PPG)

In the final year Team USA basketball was restricted to just amateur athletes, the U.S. looked on its way to another gold medal, having little trouble leading up to the semifinals. But Manning, a superstar from Kansas who scored at least 10 points in each game prior, was held scoreless in the semis, and the U.S. lost to the Soviet Union, 82-76. They bounced back to win their first bronze, 78-49, against Australia.
