Future NBA stars Russell and Jones led a loaded U.S. team in Melbourne. Team USA scored at least 98 points in each of its three preliminary games, won by at least 30 in each of its three quarterfinal group games, then romped Uruguay, 101-38, and the Soviet Union, 89-55, on the way to another gold medal.
