1968 MEXICO CITY OLYMPICS
Result: Gold medal
Key players: Spencer Haywood (16.1 PPG), Jo-Jo White (11.7 PPG)
Haywood, a 19-year-old from the University of Detroit, burst on to the scene in 1968, scoring at least 20 points in the first three games of the tournament, then again in the gold-medal game against Yugoslavia. The U.S. again went undefeated, and again won gold, topping Yugoslavia 70-65.
