Free-agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski has agreed to a one-year deal with the Texas Rangers, pending a physical, according to reports. CBSSports.com’s Jon Heyman reported that the deal is worth $7.5 million.

Last season the 35-year-old showed no signs of aging, as he reached career highs in home runs (27) and RBIs (77), picking up his first-ever Silver Slugger Award in 15 seasons in the majors.
