The Yankees have claimed infielder/outfielder Russ Canzler off waivers from the Cleveland Indians.

In 29 games in the big leagues, Canzler has hit .271 with three home runs and 12 RBIs. The 26-year-old righthanded hitter signed with the Chicago Cubs in 2004 after being drafted in the 30th round of that year's amateur draft.
