County Parks Department officials say that the geese had left the feces since the begiining of the summer and that it was causing major headaches for the grounds crew. The issue prompted the department to round up the nearly 500 Canada geese, ship them to upstate New York and euthanize them.

After safety inspectors check the meat, the birds will be sent to the Food bank of Westchester to help feed the hungry.
