News of Bruno Sammartino's long-awaited induction into the WWE Hall of Fame comes 39 years after he headlined the very first pro wrestling event at the Nassau Coliseum.

TheHistoryofWWE.com provided this photo of the program to that show, which took place on February 4, 1974--two years after the Coliseum opened its doors.

In the main event, Sammartino defended his World Wide Wrestling Federation heavyweight title against Stan Stasiak. This was a rematch to a bout two months earlier in which Sammartino beat Stasiak to capture his second WWF heavyweight title. Sammartino would go on to hold the championship for more than three years.

Other bouts included WWWF tag team champions Dean Ho & Tony Garea taking on Mr. Fuji and Otto Von Heller, and Larry "The Ax" Hennig battling Chief Jay Strongbow.

Most interesting, tickets ranged from $3 to $7. Cheap seats for WWE's last show at the Coliseum in December went for close to $40.
