The last time fans witnessed The Rock in a wrestling match was Wrestlemania 20 in Madison Square Garden when he teamed with Mic Foley to face Evolution (Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Dave Batista). We may not have to wait that long before he laces up the boots once again.

The Rock said the following in a recent interview with WWE Magazine:

“Making movies is something that I love to do, and I know that it brings a lot of people joy, which in turn brings me and my soul great gratification,” he said. “Being in the ring and entertaining the audience and kicking ass physically brings me and my soul great gratification as well. I can guarantee that I can always do both.”

Just a few years ago, The Rock was adamant that wrestling was a closed chapter in his life. His tune has changed ever since his return. He said that he was “never leaving” the WWE again after his dramatic return on Raw a few weeks ago. A lot of fans speculated that he meant he would appear for big events a few times a year much like Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Now, the interview he gave the magazine could be nothing at all and once again those in the internet wrestling community are making a mountain out of nothing. But it’s hard to dismiss those remarks in a WWE publication.

I interviewed Cena on Friday at Madison Sqaure Garden and he said he would love to have “many, many matches” with The Rock in the future. Does he know something that we don’t?
