The Steel Cage
One of the biggest debates each year is what should be the final match at Wrestlemania. It’s a guaranteed conversation starter among wrestling fans and an easy blog post to write up. So, here we go.
Many old school wrestling fans will always say that a title match needs to close the show. They argue that no wrestler or match is bigger than the title. Last year proved that argument wrong...Read more »
Any “all-time greatest” list is bound to stir debate from people who vehemently disagree with the author’s opinion. And so I offer this not as an objective compilation of the WrestleMania’s best matches, but as a very subjective list of the WrestleMania bouts I’ve enjoyed the most.
It’s worth noting that there have been WrestleMania matches that, when I...Read more »
A lot of people have compared the showdown of Rock and John Cena to that of the match between Hollywood Hogan and Rock at Wrestlemania 18 in 2002.
It’s a fair comparison in my opinion. In both cases we have two larger than life wrestling figures on a collision course. In one guy we have the “younger lion” who is the “it-guy” at the moment and the face of the company....Read more »
Stars from the so-called “legitimate” sports world have been making guest appearances on professional wrestling for decades. There was Muhammad Ali getting airplane spun by Gorilla Monsoon in 1976; Joe Frazier “training” Mr. T. for his boxing match against Roddy Piper at WrestleMania 2, and Lawrence Taylor taking on Bam Bam Bigelow in the main event of WrestleMania XI.

All night TNA was teasing that the TNA champion Jeff...Read more »
After much hype all week, the world got to see Jets’ linebacker Bart Scott make his wrestling debut on TNA’s “Impact” Thursday night.
Scott was brought in to be Hulk Hogan’s “special enforcer” on what was Hogan’s big return to TNA. Hogan and his group, “Immortal,” which also includes legend Rick Flair, and Matt Hardy, are now in charge...Read more »
Jets’ linebacker Bart Scott will make his wrestling debut this Thursday night on TNA’s “iMPACT” at 9 p.m.
We all know Scott can easily cut a promo in the ring. We saw good evidence of that in his post-game interview after beating the Patriots in the playoffs. Scott ranted that the Patriots’ defense “couldn’t stop a nose bleed.” He’s no...Read more »
There’s always drama surrounding “The Immortal One,” Hulk Hogan. This time it involved a person crashing his wedding claiming he had a gun. There’s no word yet if Hogan “hulked up” and gave him a leg drop on the alter.
I'm glad Hogan found love again although I have one question: Who gets married on a Tuesday?
Anyway, here’s Frank Lovece’s...Read more »
With his WWE championship win last week The Miz joins what is still a fairly exclusively, and relatively short list.
It’s true that world title changes have become fairly commonplace in WWE in recent years (the WWE title has changed hands six times this year alone – the same amount of title changes in the first 14 years of WWE’s existence.) But the fact is that it’s...Read more »
