The Steel Cage
It never ceases to amaze me how The Rock can return to WWE television after months, or even years away, and deliver a promo that puts most of his locker room to shame. Even well before his return as a semi-regular performer in WWE in 2011, The Rock proved this with his via-satellite appearance at 2009’s Smackdown 10th anniversary special.
And “The Great One” did it once again last night with...Read more »
It may not have received nearly as much hype as last week’s show, but the 1001st episode of Raw tonight is, in some ways, even more important. That’s in large part because it marks the true beginning of the 3-hour era, and will not have the Rock, the Undertaker or a reunited D-Generation X to prop it up in the ratings.
As it will on most Monday nights going forward, WWE will have...Read more »
. First, I want to mention that I’ll be a guest on the Pro Wrestling Torch Livecast Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. with Pat McNeill. The Livecast is consistently one of the most listened-to podcast in all of sports, and Pat is an extremely knowledgeable and funny guy. I’m really looking forward to it.
. If last night was any indication of what we’re in for, I’m really dreading Raw going to three hours....Read more »
Both WWE and TNA today made blockbuster announcements regarding the future of their flagship television programs. WWE dropped the bombshell that Monday Night Raw will expand to three hours beginning with its forthcoming 1,000th episode in July. And TNA revealed plans to air Impact Wrestling live on Thursday nights this summer.
It’s a mixed bag as far as what the changes mean to...Read more »
Brock Lesnar’s return to the WWE after eight years pushed everything else to the side on Raw last night. That says a lot about Lesnar because it was one of the best Raws in recent memory.
The Miami crowd was so good last night that the WWE should have them at every televised event. The one thing you may have noticed is how over Daniel Bryan was with the fans in attendance. Fans chanted Bryan’s...Read more »
Here comes the pain! Again.
Brock Lesnar made his return to the WWE on Raw tonight and delivered an F-5 to John Cena completely changing the landscape of the WWE for the foreseeable future.
Rumors were running wild all weekend that the former WWE Champion turned MMA fighter was set to return to the company that made him famous. Those rumors were put on hold as Lesnar was nowhere to be...Read more »
The WWE had one last chance to promote Wrestlemania on their flagship television show last night. Raw was held in Atlanta -- the host city of last year’s Wrestlemania -- at the Philips Arena where just about a year ago the “once in a lifetime match” was made between The Rock and John Cena.
Raw had that “big-time” atmosphere last night just six days before Wrestlemania 28. All night video segments...Read more »
Last night’s Raw in Philadelphia featured more of the same: lots of talking and very little action between the stars who make up the three biggest feuds going into Wrestlemania.
It’s evident that The Rock and John Cena are talking circles at this point. The same could be said with Undertaker and Triple H, while the CM Punk-Chris Jericho angle continues to get deeply personal. Let’s start there.
CM...Read more »
WWE Superstar John Cena was involved in a three-car automobile accident earlier today in Philadelphia, according to WWE.com.
No immediate injuries were reported and Cena is scheduled to meet with WWE medical personnel when he arrives at the Wells Fargo Center for tonight’s live edition of Raw.
Cena -- who was traveling in a SUV, according to TMZ -- was reportedly rear ended by a Honda...Read more »
Last night’s Raw was built around the “John Cena Rap vs. The Rock Concert” as the two Wrestlemania opponents squared off in a battle of musical talents. The overall motif of the show made sense as Raw was in Cleveland, the home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
I felt Raw was strong but it fell flat compared to the last few weeks, which haven been excellent. The WWE always revs up the product...Read more »
