Henry Lopez scored his second goal of the season as the Cosmos defeated the Atlanta Silverbacks, 1-0, at Silverbacks Park Saturday night in a preview of the North American Soccer League 2013 Soccer Bowl.

Lopez received a cross from Satoru Kashiwase and let the ball bounce before firing it past Atlanta goalkeeper Cody Mizell from 14 yards out in the 34th minute. The Cosmos extended their unbeaten streak to 12 straight matches.

"The good thing was that we kept the lead," Cosmos assistant coach Carlos Llamosa said. "It is a good way to finish the fall season this way, winning against the spring champions."

Atlanta, which allowed 11 goals in three consecutive losses to end the regular season, had a chance to take the lead early when Martyn Lancaster flicked the ball on to Horace James. But his volley was wide of the far post in the 12th minute.
