HARRISON, N.J. - Seven-time French champion Olympique Lyonnais will play the New York Red Bulls in a friendly on July 16 at Red Bull Arena.

The MLS team announced the exhibition on Friday. Two current Red Bulls have played for the French team -- Juninho and Peguy Luyindula.

Lyon qualified for the 2013-14 UEFA Champions League after finishing in third place in Ligue 1 this past season. The French club won seven-straight Ligue 1 championships between 2001-08.

The Red Bulls have never faced Lyon. However, Lyon did play at Red Bull Arena last season as part of the Trophee Des Champions.
