Other than England's Theo Walcott, who stole most of the headlines yesterday after head coach Fabio Capello left him off the 23-man World Cup roster, there were three other notable omissions on deadline day for World Cup rosters.

(Across the pond, the Daily Mail did a nice job featuring all 32 rosters on one clean page.)

-- Italy's Giuseppe Rossi, who was born in New Jersey, was dropped. Rossi played for the Italians on last summer's Confederations Cup team and -- quite memorably -- scored a pair of beautiful goals against the Americans in the opening game.

-- Mexico's Jonathan dos Santos was the last player cut. His brother, Gio, was not happy.

-- South Africa's Benni McCarthy will stay at home this year (wrong choice of words -- I guess he can still drive to some of the games). He's the host nation's all-time leading scorer.
