No. 4 Andy Murray is a contender at this year's U.S. Open and moved a step closer in his pursuit of a Grand Slam title, beating Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-2, 6-2, today in Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Murray, who was the runner-up to Roger Federer in the U.S. Open men's final two years ago, has played well in majors this year. He was the runner-up at the Australian Open, lost in the fourth round of the French Open and made it to the semifinals at Wimbledon.
