TV personality and “The Price is Right” host Drew Carey is the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame, according to WWE.com. Carey will join the “celebrity wing” which includes baseball legend Pete Rose, Bob Uecker and William “The Refrigerator” Perry.

Carey made his lone WWE appearance as the number six entry into the 2001 Royal Rumble. He was the only man in the ring until Kane made his made down his way to the ring. Carey offered Kane a wad of money to let him go unharmed. Kane had a chokeslam grip on Carey’s neck before the next entrant, Raven, saved him. Carey exited the ring on his own going over the top rope.

Hardcore wrestling fans don’t care much for the “celebrity wing” of the Hall of Fame. On a night when the Shawn Micheals is being inducted, it really doesn’t matter who else goes in – wrestler or celebrity. This night will forever be HBK’s special moment and Carey being included in this class will no way diminish that honor.

In addition to Michaels and Carey, the WWE has already announced that Sunny, “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Bob Armstrong will also be inducted on April 2nd.

The WWE just wants to add another name to the big weekend and show its ability to attract Hollywood names to Wrestlemania. For those that may have forgotten or never seen Carey’s foray into wrestling, below is the video. Sorry for the poor quality.
