Less than a year after retiring from the WWE in the “Streak vs. Career” match, Shawn Michaels has signed a long-term deal to rejoin the WWE, according to The Heart Break Kid in a video on his YouTube channel.

Michaels states he is adamant about not returning to in-ring action because he wants to keep his word to the fans and the Undertaker. It seems this long-term deal is just a way to have HBK affiliated with the WWE again to make appearances and that sort of thing, at least for now. Michaels says that if the WWE ever needs him he is there for them with this deal. He specifically said he’s not the Raw GM and there are no commitments for anything in the near future.

I cannot see HBK sitting ideally by doing not much of anything. This is just the infancy steps before HBK has some creative control backstage and/or makes his way in front of the camera on a weekly basis. As for wrestling again? It’s only a matter of time in my opinion.
