Those of us of a certain age recall an era when CNN’s nightly sports roundup was as popular, if not more so, than ESPN’s “SportsCenter.’’ No, really. It’s so. But in recent decades CNN has moved away from sports while ESPN has, well, taken over the world.
Now comes word the venerable news network will dip its toe back into the sports waters with a new weekend show beginning later this year...
