Spring means golf time on Long Island

Spring is here this week, and it is time to start thinking about golf! Long Island is home to many beautiful golf courses. Some are open to the public, and some don't cost much to play. One of the most popular golf courses in the country is in Bethpage State Park. Bethpage has five 18-hole courses. The most difficult, the famous Black course, has hosted the Barclays tournament and the U.S. Open. Bethpage Black will host the Barclays again in 2016, the PGA championship in 2019 and the Ryder Cup in 2024.

Another popular place to play is at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow. It has three 18-hole courses, including the famous Red course, which has hosted PGA championships as far back as 1926 and as recently as 2008. If you're a beginner, we suggest you try Cantiague Park in Hicksville and Harbor Links in Port Washington, because the courses are not as challenging.
