St. Patrick's Day parades in the Hudson Valley
Although St. Patrick's Day has already passed (on Sunday, March 17), there's still one more major parade in the Hudson Valley where you can rock your most festive green outfit, and we've got the details here.
March 23: McLean Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade in Yonkers
Yonkers' McLean Avenue is the Irish answer to Little Italy in the Bronx. Last year, the McLean Avenue Merchants Association decided to harness all that Celtic pride and organized the first-ever McLean Avenue St. Patrick's Day Parade. The event was a success, attracting 3,500 marchers and more than 12,000 spectators. This year at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, organizers hope to have more than 4,000 marchers and close to 20,000 spectators.

One of the parade's organizers, RJ Puma, whose family owns Anna Artuso's Pastry Shop on McLean Avenue, knows firsthand that you don't have to be Irish to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
"The parade brings all of that together," she said. "We are one big family here, even if some of us are Italian."
The parade's chairperson is Deridre O' Mara, and the grand marshal is world-renowned Irish folk musician and Yonkers resident Joanie Madden.
Route: The parade steps off at the junction of McLean Avenue and Bronx River Road, heads west and ends at Coyne Park.
