Star witness in Annabi corruption trial cross-examined by defense
YONKERS - The star witness for the prosecution, Anthony Mangone, was cross-examined in federal court today in the trial of former Yonkers Councilwoman Sandy Annabi.
Annabi is accused of accepting bribes to change her vote on projects like the Ridge Hill development.
On the stand, the defense tried to paint Mangone as corrupt.
Mangone did testify that he paid a bribe to former Yonkers Republican party chair Zehy Jereis but never asked if the money was in exchange for Annabi's vote.
Mangone also testified that he had previously lied under oath.
