HARTFORD - The state Labor Department announced that Connecticut lost 3,900 jobs last month.

That loss offsets the 3,800 jobs that were added in November.

Despite there being fewer jobs in the state in December, the unemployment rate still fell to 7.4 percent.

Officials say the drop can mostly be attributed to people getting jobs than to people who have stopped searching.
