Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site

In the Battle of Stony Point on the night of July 16, 1779, Brig. Gen. Anthony Wayne led a corps of Continental Light Infantry in a midnight attack on the British, seizing the site's fortifications and taking the soldiers and camp followers as prisoners. The Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site is also home to the he Stony Point Lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse on the Hudson River. (July 9, 2012)
