The search is on for the gunman in an early-morning Sunday shooting in Nyack, police said Monday.
The incident happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday on Artopee Way, Orangetown police Det. Lt. Jim Brown said in a statement. Orangetown patrol officers heard shots being fired and responded along with Clarkstown police, New York State Police and Rockland County sheriff's deputies, police said.
As the area was searched, Orangetown police were notified by Nyack Hospital of a gunshot victim in its emergency room. The shooting victim, a 31-year-old man from Suffern, had been brought to the hospital by friends after being hit in the left leg and pelvis after some type of dispute, police said. The victim was unable to provide a description of the shooter, police said.
