A man was hospitalized and the eastbound lanes of Nepperhan Avenue were closed Thursday night after a Lincoln Navigator collided with a motorcycle, the Yonkers Police Department said.
The motorcyclist was riding east on Nepperhan Avenue about 8:30 p.m. when it was struck by the large sport utility vehicle, police told News12 Westchester. The bike and rider were knocked some 100 feet down the road by the collision.
Witnesses told police the Lincoln's driver turned the SUV right onto Waverly Avenue and fled without stopping. Police found a Lincoln Navigator that matched witness descriptions in the area of 211 Waverly St. The driver had abandoned the vehicle, and police were still searching for the suspect late Thursday night.
