How 2...Remove your phone number from Google

1. Go to Google.com, type in your phone number (including the area code) and press Enter or click on "Google Search."

2. Once the "Phonebook results" appear (there should be a little telephone icon next to your name), click on the link above the icon.

3. Click on the link that says "Request to have your name removed from this list." Fill out the blank fields and click "Submit Form."

4. Once you've asked to remove your phone number from the Google Phonebook, the listing will be permanently removed, even if someone uses your name to search for your number. It cannot be added back if you change your mind.

5. Removing your phone number from the Google Phonebook will not remove all references to your name and phone number on the Internet, or from online directories like Whitepages.com or Anywho.com.

It also will not make your number unlisted or unpublished. To do that, contact your local phone company and ask to have your number unlisted and unpublished.

For more information about removing your phone number or for instructions on how to remove a business phone number, go to Google.com/help/pbremoval.html.
