MOUNT VERNON - Some residents in Mount Vernon may face some cold winter nights ahead.
Tenants at 61 West Grand St. in the Fleetwood section of Mount Vernon are without heat, a problem that started last winter.
Tenants say a partially excavated oil tank that was supposed to be fixed by June hasn't been looked at, despite a law that requires heat to be provided to tenants by Oct. 1 or when temperatures fall below 55 degrees.
Residents say they filed complaints with the city's Department of Buildings, the fire department and the building’s new management company, HSC Management Corporation.
Residents were told by HSC that it would fix the problem by the end of the month.
