'Three Bird Summer' by Sara St. Antoine, a cool mystery

I read the book, "Three Bird Summer" by Sara St. Antoine (Candlewick).

Adam is a middle-school boy who does not like the company of popular girls. Alice is a girl who has extra skin between her toes, so Adam calls her duck. This year, for summer vacation, Adam went to his grandma's house with his mom. It is here he met Alice. Together, they find a treasure map and lots of adventure. In the story, he and Alice hunt for treasure together.

The mystery about the treasure originally was addressed to Adam's grandma. The person who gave her this was G.G., the builder of the cabin. The treasure was seven miniature animals that fit into the mantelpiece.

The author made this book interesting because she was very descriptive. I could imagine Adam, Alice and treasure-hunting with them. I like this book because it had a twisty plot. His grandma's cabin is on Three Bird Lake, so Adam goes swimming almost every day. I like the way one moment Adam is swimming and the next moment he is treasure-hunting with Alice.

Read it to learn if they find the treasure!
