SEASIDE TRAIN SHOW -- Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, 229 Rehobeth Ave., Rehoboth Beach / 302-537-5557. 9 a.m.-3 p.m. May 31. The event features 100 dealers and four operating train layouts. $5. Children 10 and younger admitted free.
JUNE
4th BETHANY BEACH SEASIDE CRAFT SHOW -- Boardwalk and bandstand area / 302-539-8011 or townofbethanybeach.com. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. June 7. See a variety of artisans' work at this juried fine-crafts event. Free.
MASCOT ROUNDUP -- Fire House, 219 Rehoboth Ave. / 800-441-1329, ext. 12. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 7. Kids can dress as princesses, mermaids, pirates and knights for the Royal Procession Down the Boardwalk, take pictures with the colorful mascots and more. Free; donations appreciated.
PAINT OUT 2008 -- Various locations / 302-227-8408 or rehobothartleague.org. June 20-22. More than 30 artists set up easels outdoors and paint en plein air, while competing to win prizes. Free.
JULY
BETHANY BEACH 4TH OF JULY PARADE -- Garfield Parkway and North Pennsylvania Avenue, Bethany Beach / 302-539-8011. Noon-2 p.m. July 4. The theme of the event is "Pride Tradition and Dedication," to honor the Bethany Beach Patrol. Horseshoe and pie-eating contests begin after the parade. Fireworks at dusk. Free.
AUGUST
30th ANNUAL SANDCASTLE CONTEST -- Fisherman's Beach, Rehoboth Beach / 800-441-1329, ext. 12. 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Aug. 2. Compete in sandcastle, freeform and animal categories. Free.
SEPTEMBER
POLKAMOTION BY THE OCEAN -- Rehoboth Beach Convention Center, 229 Rehoboth Ave. / 410-729-9697 or rbpolka.com. 6 p.m.-midnight Sept. 11-12, 5 p.m.- 1 a.m. Sept. 13 and 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sept. 14. This annual event features polka bands, music and Polish food. $10-$16.
