LIBERTYVILLE
United Methodist Church of Libertyville is accepting donations of flood buckets and cleaning supplies through Sunday in the north foyer area at the church, 429 Brainerd Ave. The items will be taken to the United Methodist Midwest Mission Distribution Center. Donations of these items will be assembled in buckets: 5-gallon buckets with resealable lids, ½-gallon containers of bleach, 50-ounce containers of liquid laundry detergent, 12-ounce containers of liquid Lysol cleaner concentrate, 16- to 28-ounce containers of antibacterial dish soap, 9-ounce containers of air freshener, 6- to 9-ounce containers of insect repellent such as Off or Cutter, 5 scouring pads (not steel wool), 1 scrub brush, 18 reusable cleaning towels such as Easy Wipe, 7-pack assorted sizes of sponges, 50 snap clothes pins, 5-pack disposable dust mask, 2-pair packages of latex gloves, 1-pair packages of work gloves, 30-gallon trash bags. Volunteers are needed for vacation Bible school July 28 through Aug. 1 in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 30 Riverwoods Rd. Adults are needed to direct learning centers, guide crafts, coordinate refreshments and supervise younger volunteers. Call 847-945-1550.
LONG GROVE
The free Summer Fling congregational picnic will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. July 13 on the grounds at Congregation Beth Judea, Illinois Highway 83 and Hilltop Road. The event features refreshments, games and contests. Reservations are required. Call 847-634-0777.
