Donald Duck is a persnickety animated Disney character who first appeared in "The Wise Little Hen" movie in 1934. He is known for his raspy, somewhat unintelligible speaking manner, his temper and his blue sailor outfit. His biggest surge in popularity came during World War II. He starred in more than 100 films between 1941 and 1965, including patriotic "Army shorts" and the anti-Nazi movie "Der Fuehrer's Face" (1941), which won an Academy Award in the animated short film category.
