Highlights
The Palm Beach International Film Festival, held each April, was founded in 1996 by city commissioner Burt Aaronson and philanthropist George Elmore with the aim of raising funds for local schools. Randi Emerman has served as director of the festival for most of its history. In 2003, PBIFF became a competitive forum and began issuing awards. Festival organizers report that, to date, more than $1 million has been donated to Palm Beach County school film programs. Yvonne S. Boice chairs the festival's board of directors.
