Born in Louisiana, Buddy Guy moved to Chicago in 1957, and ultimately helped to inspire a blues-rock scene that influenced musicians such as Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. A direct descendant of legend Muddy Waters, Guy is considered to be the man who modernized the blues music scene. His music has been covered by Led Zeppelin, Clapton, the Rolling Stones and Stevie Ray Vaughan, among others. He has won five Grammy Awards for his work on electric and acoustic guitars and for contemporary and traditional forms of blues music.
