The Big E, also known as "New England's Great State Fair," is the only cross-state agricultural fair in the U.S. The fair serves all six of the New England states. Held in West Springfield, Mass., this autumn fair is opens the second Friday after Labor Day and runs through the third following Sunday (two weeks and three weekends). Since the fair began in 1917, then known as the Eastern States Exposition, the Big E draws large crowds every year with its number of attractions.
