Celebrity update

Former L.A. Law hunk Blair Underwood will join HBO's Sex and the City for four episodes. It was not revealed which of the characters he'll romance. Underwood will make his first appearance around the ninth of 12 episodes airing this summer.


  • Tyra Banks has spoken. The winner of UPN's America's Next Top Model was Adrianne Curry, a 20-year-old waitress from Joliet, Ill. She netted a Revlon contract and a representation deal as a result of Tuesday night's season finale.


  • A journalist who raised her daughter as a single mother and worked as a receptionist, nightclub singer and Sunday school teacher will take over the late Ann Landers' advice column. Starting July 20, Amy Dickinson will answer questions about life's joys and pitfalls in a Chicago Tribune column to run seven days a week, the newspaper reported Wednesday. Syndication will start this fall. The column will be named "Ask Amy."
