The Towson, Md., native won three national titles in the summer of 2007 -- the 200-meter IM, the 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter freestyle. In 2005, she won three gold medals at the FINA World championships and was named Female Athlete of the Year by USA Swimming. Hoff also signed a 10-year endorsement deal with Speedo, the longest contract the swimsuit maker has given. In 2004, she stunned the swimming world at age 14 by swimming the fastest time of anyone in the 400-meter individual medley leading up to the Olympics. Hoff was born on June 3, 1989. She lived in Williamsburg, Va., before moving to Maryland. Her mom, Jeanne, played basketball at Stanford. Hoff was named Female Athlete of the Year by USA Swimming in 2007.
