The Rock 106.9 WCCC is independent, non-corporate, and local! WCCC is live and local 24/7 and very active in the community, supporting many charity events throughout the year.

The WCCC Award is given to the best entertainment news story. The goal of this award is to encourage students to focus their report on the entertainment industry, events, artists, and trends.

Possible topics could include, but are not limited to, music, local artists, exhibits, concerts, comedy, theatre, movies, video games, sporting events, the media and performing arts.

The production quality of the news story is also considered when judging this award.
