Boston Logan International Airport
This 13 September, 2001, file photo shows a US Airways jetliner at a gate of Boston's Logan Airport Terminal A in Boston, Massachusetts, two days after two planes took off from Logan and were crashed on the World Trade Center in New York. The airliner filed for bankruptcy protection 11 August, 2002, saying it planned to use the reorganization process to recover after a blow dealt to the industry by the 11 September, 2001, attacks. The sixth-largest US carrier made the announcement shortly after filing its Chapter 11 petition with the US Bankruptcy Court in Alexandria, Virginia, just outside the US capital.'US Airways will continue to operate while we complete our financial restructuring, and our customers should be confident that we will continue service to the more than 200 communities in our network,' US Airways chief executive David Siegel said.
