Cholera
One of the hundreds of people displaced from Kinama sleeps in a house in Mubone, some 10 kilometers north of Bujumbura 20 April 2001, following the last month unrest, in Kinama, the Bujumbura suburb where a heavy rebel offensive was repelled early March. Rebels of the National Liberation forces (NFL) attacked and occupied Kinama 24 February, sparking 12 days of heavy fighting with some 200 rebels and about 20 soldiers were killed, according to the army. Many local residents were displaced to Mubone while an epidemic of cholera broke out in Kinama.
