New Indian Army Chief, General Bikram Singh addresses the media at the defence ministry in New Delhi on June 1, 2012. General Bikram Singh, who took over as the 25th Chief of the Indian Army May 31, visited the Amar Jawan Jyoti to lay a wreath at the memorial for Indian soldiers and then proceeded to the lawns of the South Block where he was given a guard of honour. General Bikram Singh succeeds General VK Singh, whose 26-month tenure was mired in controversies.
