Plaxico Jeffrey Burress (pronounced /ˈplɛksɪkoʊ ˈbɜrəs/ PLEKS-i-koh; born August 12, 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He is currently serving a 2-year prison sentence. He has played in the National Football League for the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison after pleading guilty to weapons charges and, with time off for good behavior, will likely serve 20 months and be eligible for release in Spring 2011.
