Rick Wagoner
The General Motors Service Parts Operations World Headquarters is pictured 12 July 2006 in Flint, Michigan. Rick Wagoner, the chief executive officer of General Motors, said he is 'looking forward' to working with Carlos Ghosn, the head of Renault-Nissan, on a potential joint venture. Ghosn is expected to fly to Detroit 14 July to meet with the GM chief to discuss the alliance first proposed by GM's largest private shareholder, Kirk Kerkorian's Tracinda Corp. A number of GM executives have said privately that Wagoner is opposed to the deal and does not want to cede control to Ghosn, an industry legend who saved Japan's Nissan from bankruptcy.
