Cruise lines offering fall deals
Fall ushers in some of the lowest cruise prices of the year. Here are some good bets for 2013.
Few, if any, ships have been as extensively renovated as Carnival Cruise Line's former Carnival Destiny, now named the Carnival Sunshine. Besides the addition of 182 cabins, the $155 million renovation installed three new dining-drinking spots and a water sports park.
Located adjacent to the WaterWorks water park aboard Carnival Sunshine is SportSquare, an expansive outdoor recreation complex featuring a ropes course, jogging track, two-level nine-hole miniature golf course, basketball court, and Ping-Pong, foosball and pool tables.
Carnival Sunshine features the line's most extensive water park with the 334-foot-long Twister water slide -- the longest in the fleet -- and Speedway Splash with twin 235-foot-long racing slides.
A Carnival Sunshine vacationer plays Yahtzee Bowling, part of Hasbro, The Game Show, an audience participation activity featuring larger-than-life adaptations of the company's iconic board games.
