So you want to spin the wheel?

'Wheelmobile'

The 'Wheelmobile' is headed to SeaWorld. Perhaps you can make it onto the vehicle and vie for a chance to appear on 'Wheel of Fortune.' (Sara A. Fajardo, Orlando Sentinel / November 5, 2006)

The search for contestants for the Wheel of Fortune episodes that will be taped at SeaWorld Orlando will begin with a two-day visit of the Wheelmobile Sept. 27-28.

You're going to need some good fortune to be selected, though, because step one involves random dumb luck. Applications of the Wheel hopefuls who show up at SeaWorld those days will be drawn at random by the "traveling" host and co-host. (Don't expect Pat Sajak and Vanna White.)

Those lucky folks will be brought on the traveling stage in groups of five for brief interviews and to play a version of the game show's speed-up round. Players deemed as the most promising will advance to final auditions, which will be held a few weeks later. The SeaWorld shows' contestants will be finalized at those auditions.

Wheel will tape four weeks' worth of programs over four days -- Dec. 12, 13, 15 and 16 -- at Bayside Stadium. They will air sometime in 2009.

Kids joust free?

Medieval Times is offering a kids-eat-free deal to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Through July 6, one child (age 12 and younger) gets in free when accompanied by a paying adult at the Kissimmee dinner show attraction. That's a savings of $35 per child.

The Kissimmee castle revamped its show this year, but there's still plenty of kid-friendly jousting and horseplay. Now there's a little romance thrown in.
