don't miss: mermaid calendars at weeki wachee springs
WHAT: For the first time in history, Weeki Wachee Springs has created a calendar that stars its famed mermaids. Photographer Andrew Brusso, a Florida native with scads of celebrity photos and major magazine covers in his portfolio, captured the finned females after hearing about the park's "Save Our Tails" campaign. He'll be visiting Weeki Wachee, signing the 16-month calendars, which sell for $19.95. (You can see more of Brusso's work at andrewbrusso.com.)
WHEN: The autograph session with Brusso and mermaids will be 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday. Park hours are 10 a.m.-- 4 p.m.
WHERE: Intersection of State Road 50 and Highway 19 in Hernando County.
COST: $24.95 general, $16.95 ages 3-10 (also includes Buccaneer Bay, a "spring-fed" water park).
CALL: 352-596-2062.
