JetBlue offers free flights to unhappy voters
While the political season doesn't exactly promote thoughts of celebration, JetBlue Airways wants to get potential customers in a holiday state of mind.
The airline, timing its announcement with the first of the presidential debates, is offering voters the chance to get a free flight to one of 21 international destinations.
"We've all heard it said before: if my candidate does not win, I'm leaving the country," Marty St. George, senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy for JetBlue, said in a statement.
Well, now you can at least try. Head to jetblue.com/electionprotection, where you'll choose your candidate -- actually, just click on the donkey or the elephant -- and your destination of choice, with many in the Caribbean plus Colombia and Mexico.
If your candidate loses, that may be sad for the country, but you'll then be eligible to win one of 1,006 roundtrip certificates. (Multiply that by two and you end up with 2,012 seats total.)
